The Lee County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and the Lee County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) joined forces in December 2015 to form the Lee County Emergency Preparedness Coalition (LCEPC). This newly form Coalition has greater response capabilities and greater response time to citizens and businesses when minutes matter.
The LCEPC will be coordinating with non-governmental and governmental agencies as well as the business community and other stakeholders to provide needed resources in times of disaster and other emergencies. Working with community leaders, the LCEPC will conduct site plans to review emergency plans and serve as subject matter experts to those who need assistance in developing emergency operations plans and other safety plans. Through exercises, the LCEPC will identify weak points in its capabilities and work to strengthen it response while continuing to build on its strengths.
